During my Waldorf Teacher Training a woman came in to teach a lesson and lead us in a series of Bothmer and Spacial Dynamics Movements. When we were finished I asked her, “What is this? I need to do this the rest of my life!” Since that time I have completed levels I, II, and III in Spacial Dynamics.
I could tell you how I have used Spacial Dynamics in every moment in the classroom as a movement teacher, handwork teacher, and other subject matters. I could tell you about the development of a comprehensive movement program that addresses the whole child through movement and cooperation. I can add in the Hands In Peace Festivals I have taken part in throughout the world, bringing children together from communities at conflict, to share and celebrate their differences and similarities.I could tell you about the hands on therapies that have helped many children and adults to be free of pain, discomfort, and let go of the gestures that trap them in old injuries and traumas. There are also the team building applications that I’ve used with adolescents and groups of teachers to help communication and understanding. But the truth is Spacial Dynamics helped form me. It cleared my vision to see, feel and experience the person I was to become. It gave me the courage to step out into the world with something to offer to give hope for a better future. It showed me how to be an example of humanness, individuality, and community. I know now what I felt that first day, when I moved with the archetypes that Spacial Dynamics has brought through it’s exercises, was truth and promise. And from that day forward I carry that light and in all interactions and share that light with others.
